Te Puna Umanga Venture Taranaki invite all Taranaki tourism businesses to attend our upcoming workshop and learn everything you need to know on getting started and working with tourism trade to grow your international market share.

In this full day workshop you will gain a clear understanding of how to work with trade and come away with an action plan to achieve this.

Topics include:

• Interational tourism distribution - how does this work?
• An overview of international markets, including visitor profiles, spending and travel habits.
• How to work with tourism trade including inbound tour operators and wholesalers
• Requirements such as health and safety, insurance
• Product and packaging development
• Commission structures
• Qualmark overview
• How to work with other operators to market your business to tourism trade

Included: Workbook and action plan template

Lunch and refreshments will be provided.

*Venture Taranaki is heavily subsidising the cost of this training (usually valued at $800) through the Regional Business Partner Fund. To access this training at this subsidised cost, there is a prerequisite that attendees must attend a one-on-one Zoom session with a Venture Taranaki Adviser. Please find full information below.

2. Please then register as a customer in the Regional Business Partner Portal:

3. You will then need to attend a zoom meeting organised by Venture Taranaki to explain the fund criteria. We will help you to schedule this prior to the workshop.

This session is facilitated by Marijke Dunselman of Strategies Consultancy. About Marijke:

Marijke has worked in the NZ Tourism Industry for over 26 years. Initially as Manager of Tourism Southland (an RTO), and for the past 23 years in her tourism marketing and training consultancy.

For the past 19 years, she has run a marketing collective, the Smartourism Marketing Group (www.smartourism.co.nz ). She helps operators get trade ready and represents 20 operators to inbound tour operators and wholesalers all over the world. She has attended TRENZ 19 times and has carried out many domestic and international market visits.

She has also worked with hundreds of tourism businesses as a consultant and trained thousands over the years.

Marijke speaks four languages fluently and has lived in several countries. She moved to New Zealand 30 years ago.
