Water Loss Training Event
Event Information
About this Event
Climate change, climate variations, and water shortages have had a huge impact on New Zealand over the last few years. And with limited opportunities for staff to receive technical training on water supply networks, Thomas Consultants are again running a two-day water loss training event.
The event will take place in Auckland on 25 and 26 February 2021, and will be an ideal opportunity for water network staff and management to learn more about water loss and the management of water supply networks to achieve acceptable levels of leakage.
It’ll be a chance for staff to learn and connect with each other, and there’ll be a small expo of suppliers who’ll present their water loss related products to the group. The feedback from those who have attended previous events is very positive.
Case studies from around New Zealand are welcomed, as hearing about the experiences, challenges and successes of others is always interesting and informative. We have several already confirmed. If you have a story you’d like to share, please contact Richard by emailing richard.taylor@tcec.co.nz.
For the first time, there’ll also be a special session planned for Council elected members, CEO’s, senior managers, and others who want to know more about the high-level key principles in relation to water loss. This special 90-minute seminar is planned for 3pm on Thursday 25th February 2021 and will be part of the main event, but also streamed ‘real time’ to those who register (use alternative Eventbrite 'ONLINE' event to register). Attendance in person at this session (only) will also be available - use this Eventbrite event to register.
Due to risks associated with Covid-19 and hosting in-person events, preparations are being made to live stream all presentations to those who register if the main event is cancelled.
The best local accommodation is the Quality Hotel, Lincoln Green, at 159 Lincoln Road – a short bus ride (or 25 min walk) to the venue. Attached is some supporting information. Alternatively you could stay in a central Auckland Hotel and get the train to Henderson. Please quote booking reference 66731 or TCEC Group to obtain reduced room rates. You can book by emailing reception@lincolngreen.co.nz
Numbers are limited, and we hope you’ll join us for what’s looking to be another insightful event. Together, we can move forward with better water network management.
