WE ARE ONE: The Wisdom of the Yi in Art

This is a uniquely curated immersive art and healing experience, presented in the form of an art exhibition and a philosophical sharing session. Through a cross-disciplinary dialogue between artist Yang Yi and Yi scholar Jojo Zhou, the event invites guests on a reflective journey of self-awareness, resonance, and harmony.

Event Highlights

Art Exhibition｜Yang Yi’s We Are One Sculpture Series

• Concept:
  Each sculpture embodies the belief in the unity of all beings, expressing love and coexistence through serene and balanced form. The We Are One series was previously exhibited at New Zealand’s Cloud Arena and received widespread recognition. Works from this series have been collected by Jackie Chan, Sir Richard Taylor (Founder of Weta Workshop), and Hollywood director Andrew Adamson. Several key pieces will be showcased at this event, creating a space filled with contemplation and beauty.
• The Birth of We Are One:
  Having lived and created in New Zealand for over a decade, Yang Yi has long reflected on the question, “Where do I come from, and where do I belong?” His journey between East and West inspired him to explore the idea of harmony within boundaries.
  Drawing inspiration from Māori haka and rugby gestures,
  Yang Yi sculpted human forms that carry the textures of New Zealand’s mountains, rivers, and glaciers - allowing humanity and nature to meet within the artwork.
  Created from transparent resin and mirrored stainless steel,
  the former symbolizes purity and light, while the latter reflects resilience and courage.
  Together, these materials form a poetic tribute to New Zealand — a meditation on unity and coexistence.

Yi Wisdom Sharing｜Jojo Zhou’s Cross-Cultural Fusion

• Insight:
  Jojo Zhou, the curator and speaker of Ichigo Ichie – The Aesthetic Healing Exhibition, bridges Eastern wisdom (feng shui, Yi Jing, Taoism, Buddhism) with Western psychology, hypnotherapy, and spiritual healing. She believes that “all systems of knowledge ultimately serve the awakening and balance of the human spirit.”
  Through the perspective of “Harmony Between Heaven and Humanity,”
  she interprets the hidden wisdom within art and shares how these principles can be applied in everyday life to achieve inner peace.
• Background:
  Jojo is a columnist for YIJU Magazine and a long-term feng shui consultant featured by the NZ Herald.
  She holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Massey University and is a certified hypnotherapist and internationally accredited Akashic healer.

• 《We Are One》的诞生：在新西兰生活与创作的十多年里，杨屹不断思考「我从哪里来，又属于哪里」。这段东西方文化交织的旅程，启发了他以艺术探索「边界中的和谐」。系列灵感源于毛利战舞与橄榄球的姿态，结合山川、冰川与河流的纹理，让「人」与「自然」在雕塑中相遇。作品以透明树脂与镜面不锈钢打造：前者象征纯净与光，后者映照坚韧与勇气。这是他献给新西兰的一首诗，也是一场关于共生与一体的冥想。

  Jojo Zhou 是本次《一期一会》美学疗愈展的主理人与分享者。她深耕东方传统文化（堪舆、命理、易经、道家、佛法），同时融合西方心理学、催眠与灵性疗愈。她坚信「以术传道、以道愈心」，所有的智慧都指向人类内在的觉醒与平衡。
• 背景：
  Jojo 是新西兰《逸居》杂志易学专栏作家，亦是 NZ Herald 长期采访的命理风水专家。她拥有梅西大学临床心理学硕士学位，并具新西兰认证催眠师与国际认证阿卡西疗愈师资格。
