Description

lululemon athletica Takapuna is inviting you to take part in a 6-week run club held by strength and conditioning coach Loretta Hogg. Learn how to keep yourself injury free! No matter if you like to take yourself out for a casual 3km or you're into competing in marathons, the fundamentals of running and the end goal of remaining injury free are the same. We will be focusing on important warm up exercises, good strength based training, running technique and dynamic stretching to ensure we feel our best when WE RUN THE SHORE!

Week 1: Fundamentals of running: Learn proper techniques to keep yourself injury free no matter what your level.

Week 2: Run specific stretching: Learn dynamic stretch routines and have the opportunity to ask about your problem muscles that you would like to learn to stretch.

Week 3: Strength: Learn run specific strengthening exercises. Remember to run injury free you need to get strong before you go long!

Week 4: Endurance: Learn techniques on how to build up your endurance in a way that is not boring!

Week 5: Speed: Now you are strong and have the stamina it is time to increase your speed. This session will focus on speed drills to add into your distance run to keep it interesting.

Week 6: Let us put it all together! Now you have had some practice come along and show me what you have learnt when we go on a distance run (approx 7-8km with warm up/warm down) around the shore.

when: 6 weekly evening sessions from Tuesday 31 October to Tuesday 5th December, 5:45pm to 6:45pm

where: Takapuna Beach, Auckland (meet at lululemon takapuna, 19-29 Hurstmere Road Takapuna 0622). Rain or Shine!
