[Webinar] New Media, Inequality and Grouping in Creative Writing
Event Information
About this event
Arguments for utilising attainment grouping suggest that separating students into ‘ability’ groups enables teachers to challenge the most able students and support those students who are ‘struggling’.
However, evidence suggests that grouping by 'ability' exacerbates inequalities in education rather than reducing them.
Join Literacy Pedagogy Consultant Phill Simpson as he explores the above theories and proposes alternative ways to group students in creative writing to help foster thoughts of freedom and independence in ākonga.
