Description

And we’re off! 2017 is election year and that creates a unique environment for communications professionals. To help you prepare for and navigate through what will be a tumultuous year, IABC Wellington brings you one of the best political communications operators in Mike Munro.

Mike’s nine years as Chief Press Secretary in Helen Clark’s Labour government, a 20-year journalism career that included a decade in the Press Gallery, and two years as the Treasury Director of Communications have provided him with a tremendous insight into how this town ticks in election year.

Come along and hear from Mike his views on how the election year will play out both in and outside of the Beehive. He’ll outline how when the Treasury benches are up for grabs, the political, media and communications landscape can alter dramatically.

Mike’s presentation will be preceded by a brief chapter AGM that will include the Presidents’ report and an introduction to the 2017 IABC Wellington Board.
