Christopher Cochet, Customer Insights Analyst, Z Energy – “How to use Data science for Marketing Analytics”
Chris will speak about Z Energy’s journey to improve customer experience and how data and marketing analytics provide a deeper understanding of customer behaviours, help improve the effectiveness of loyalty/rewards programs and support the introduction of innovative products in the fuel retail market. He will give a brief overview of the analytics stack and tools used by the customer insights and marketing analytics team.
Chris has a technology and consulting background and focuses on the use of advanced analytics and data science to deliver customer insights, improve decision making and business outcomes at Z Energy. He thrives in environments where he can bridge the gap between business and analytics, data science and technology.
Charles Chrystall, Senior Analyst, and Duncan Buchanan, Specialist Services Manager, Transpower – “Data science and analytics at Transpower – 2 case studies”
Charles and Duncan will present two projects that illustrate Transpower’s journey in the data and analytics space. Charles will speak about decomposing load data into component parts in the absence of available data on the components. Duncan will present a tool to provide Situational Intelligence to power system operators.
Charles works in the Market team and is Transpower’s liaison with the Mathematics & Industry New Zealand working group (MINZ). Duncan is a former power system operator who now leads a team of technical specialists focusing on IT tools used in a control room environment.
Larissa Lutchman, Energy Modelling Analyst, Meridian Energy - "The future power system in 2050"
Larissa will provide a high-level overview of how Meridian thinks about the future - particularly the challenges facing the power system, and the modelling that is used to inform Meridian's decision-making in the context of these issues.
Larissa is an Energy Modelling Analyst in Meridian's Strategy and Performance team. The team is responsible for looking after Meridian's long-term wholesale electricity market outlook.
