What the *bleep* do architects do?!
Event Information
Description
Architects are operating in an environment of collaboration, specialisation and blurred professional boundaries. On the one hand, we’re moving away from the ‘specialist generalist’ practice and delving deeper into the detail, whilst at the same time we seem to be extending our scope into different scales and services of design. So what does that mean for the architectural profession and what we do? How do we change our professional roles to deliver complex projects and do we need to be adaptable? Have we just become problem solvers?
We have brought together a group of talented individuals who are approaching design and architectural challenges with a fresh perspective. Join Hamish Monk and Dean Mackenzie of Monk Mackenzie, Barrington Gohns from Warren and Mahoney, and Kamelia Peneva and Hayley Wright from both Isthmus and the recently established Next Door, as they discuss and debate what the role of an architect is, how this role is changing and what it is that we actually do... or could do.
