One of the unfortunate side effects of the Covid-19 lockdowns has been a rise in domestic violence incidents.
About this event
Community support services such as Women’s Refuge have had their resources stretched to cope with this extra burden.
November 25th, 2021 is White Ribbon Day across Aotearoa, New Zealand and we wanted to mark that occasion a special event that will also provide opportunities for you to give much needed support to the Tauranga Women’s Refuge.
We will be holding a special dinner/auction at the Tauranga Club, Level 5, Devonport Towers in Devonport Road.
Chef Hayden has prepared a special menu that will delight, Peri Kohu will provide some soothing blues guitar background music and our speaker is well known anti-domestic violence advocate and former Black Power member, Phil Paikea.
Phil is a member of The Patriots, a group of mostly ex-defence force motorbike riders who annually tour the country spreading the anti-domestic violence message.
The dinner will also feature a fundraising auction of items provided by our many generous sponsors with star auctioneer Blair Cashmore.
The evening concludes with music by Damo Innes guitarist/singer who will be flying in from Papamoa.
Depending on Covid-19 levels at the time you will be asked to remain at your table of 10 and food and beverage service will come to you.
Look forward to seeing you there.
