About this event

Wild Gorge Skyrunning VK, VM and V2K image

As we approach the Darling Scarp the sunrise greeting fills the hills with light and the misty clouds start to evaporate.

The stress of life disappears as we follow the trails up and down, up and down, with many a skyrunning photo opportunity to be found in this adventure.

Arrive by 6am to get parked, get race number and pins, deal with any pre-race issues and listen to brief race briefing..

Start is at the corner of Pitman Way and George St.

Finish is George St when you reach Macora Brook at the Dome Cafe.

1L-3L of drinks in a hydration pack

The first 10km or so all runners run the same course and hiking the hills is a good strategy for many of us.

The concrete water tank is the signal for the VM and V2K legends to start doing extra ascents beginning with Burnouts, and after descending "March through the Meadow Of D REVERSED", the VM and V2K runners will head for the Black course beginning with the amazing Cliffward...

The last 2km of the race from Woodstock to the Dome is all downhill for VK VM and V2K adventurers...

Looking for a VK, VM or V2K in August? Whether its to help your UltraTrail Australia , Feral Pig, Kosciusko ,WTF, or other race training along or just to help complete the strava climbing challenge for the month Wild Gorge might be what you need. Come join the adventure at Wungong Gorgeous; Lots of easily run firetrails after you negotiate the Right wing patriot single track ascent to start with. If you want hill strength, the Vertical kilometre will give it to you .

For the more advanced experienced trail runner there is the singletracks of Cliffward , Slab Rock and others with unique amazing views of Wungong Dam and the gorgeous valley below, to enjoy in the Vertical Mile. This is a serious vertical challenge with some tough terrain many single tracks plus most of the VK course. Calf guards might be good on the very steep Burnouts ascent.

For the first time for the extreme advanced runner daring to accept the mission of the vertical 2 kilometre, there is the opportunity to take on the Reverse Mullet ascent! This is in addition to all the challenges of the Vertical Mile course which is a tough challenge in itself, the V2K , taking things to an extreme level, even for extremists.

To Join the adventures grab a ticket before 1159pm Friday 26th July. This maybe the last opportunity this year to try for the unique Wild Gorge finishers medal!!!
