Come celebrate women in entrepreneurship! Hear stories from inspiring women who have founded start-ups and what they learned along the way.

About this event

Come along and be inspired to unleash your potential upon the world! Velocity's Women in Entrepreneurship event celebrates women who have founded start-ups and work in innovation in a corporate environment. The speakers will be discussing their journeys, as well as highlighting the importance of having women in entrepreneurship and industry.

Our speakers are:

Sarah Colcord, the founder of Chooice, NZ’s largest Facebook Group and biggest small business marketplace. During the 2020 New Zealand COVID-19 lockdown, Sarah launched the Chooice Facebook group for small Kiwi businesses to promote their products and services. Today Chooice boasts over 551,000 members, 2000 stores, over 80,000 products sold and over $2.5 million dollars in sales generated for small NZ businesses in 12 months. Sarah is an Impact Awards finalist, a semi-finalist for Young New Zealander of the Year and Innovator of the Year for 2021.

Jennifer Ma, founder/CEO of Little Oasis Group, a high-end education brand of education + lifestyle, meeting the early education needs of families aged 0-6. Since its founding in 2015, the Little Oasis Group has grown to 15 locations across 11cities. Jennifer was awarded the 2021 World Class New Zealander winner by KEA, was inducted into the University of Auckland’s 40 Under 40: Entrepreneurs in 2019, and has recently started a new complementary passion project focusing on assisting women back into the workforce.

Julia Arnott-Neenee, part of the Aotearoa tech scene serving on a number of boards, as an Advisor to two startups, and as the Director of Strategy & Insights at The Spinoff and Daylight Creative, an online magazine and full-service content agency and studio, respectively. She is also the Co-Founder and Director of PeopleforPeople_NZ, a youth-led Pacific Social Enterprise on a mission to ensure that everyone confidently participates in the Digital World of today and tomorrow. Before returning to NZ in 2020, she was the Global Social Strategy Lead at HP in California, USA.
