The Mental Health Foundation is pleased to bring you two free introductory workshops to support systems change towards improved workplace wellbeing.

The Working Well Workshops will provide workplaces and workplace providers with the know-how to enhance and protect people’s mental health, in order to harness mental health as a resource that leads to positive life outcomes for employees and better business results.

These workshops will be popular and spaces are limited. You can register to attend one or both workshops.

DETAILS:

8.45am (for a 9am start) - 12.00pm: (Workshop 1) Creating positive environments for mental wellbeing - the what, why and how

This workshop will provide practical information and tips to help enhance and maintain wellbeing at individual, team, and organisational/system levels, with a focus on creating a psychologically healthy organisation and culture.

12.00pm - 12.45pm: Networking lunch (for morning and afternoon workshop participants)

12.45pm (for a 1pm start) - 4.30pm: (Workshop 2) Enhancing mental wellbeing - Five Ways to Wellbeing at Work

This workshop will help you introduce mental health and wellbeing into your workplace and focus on promoting positive mental health, using five simple and proven actions.


ABOUT THE WORKSHOPS:

(Workshop 1) Creating positive environments for mental wellbeing – the what, why and how

Organisations are only as strong as their people, and the culture of an organisation has a significant impact on the wellbeing of employees. A positive workplace culture leads to increased productivity, better employee morale and the ability to retain high quality employees.

This workshop will provide practical information and tips to help enhance and maintain wellbeing at individual, team, and organisational levels, with a focus on creating organisational/systems change towards a psychologically healthy organisation and culture.

In this train-the-trainer workshop, you’ll gain an understanding of:

What is mental health and wellbeing

Why it’s important at work

How to create a positive work environment for positive mental wellbeing in the workplace

Hands on workshop activities and templates will allow you to start thinking and planning your wellbeing initiative, giving you a solid base to build upon back at work.

You’ll gain the knowledge and confidence to frame and explore the issues within your workplace, plus a comprehensive handbook, slides and notes, to enable you to deliver the workshops in your own organisation, or others you support.

The workshop will support workplaces to explore their health and safety obligations to manage risks and enhance protective factors to mental health and wellbeing.

To help you get the most out of the workshop, we’ll send you some pre-reading material as well.


(Workshop 2) Enhancing mental wellbeing - Five Ways to Wellbeing at Work

This workshop will help you introduce mental health and wellbeing into workplaces and focus on promoting positive mental health, using five simple and proven actions.

You’ll find out about the Five Ways (CONNECT, BE ACTIVE, KEEP LEARNING, GIVE and TAKE NOTICE) and how to use them to create organisational/systems change and support people and teams to find balance, build resilience and boost mental health and wellbeing.

In this train-the-trainer workshop, you will gain an understanding of:

Mental health and wellbeing, and the things that help people flourish

Why it’s important to think about wellbeing at work for both individuals and for the organisation

The Five Ways to Wellbeing and how these can improve mental wellbeing and create a positive work environment (and even at home with your whānau)

Hands on workshop activities and templates will allow you to start thinking and planning your wellbeing initiative, giving you a solid base to build upon back at work.

You’ll gain the knowledge and confidence to frame and explore the issues within your workplace, plus a comprehensive handbook, slides and notes, to enable you to deliver the workshops in your own organisation, or others you support.
