Workshop - Study of the role of copyright & designs in the creative sector

By Creative Sector Study Team

Location

Auckland & Wellington New Zealand

Description

This is an opportunity to have your say and help to shape the government’s understanding of the way that creative works are being created and disseminated, and how creators are thinking about monetising and protecting their works in this rapidly changing technological environment. The terms of reference for the study are here.

The workshops will include:

  • An introductory session with all participants, followed by afternoon tea.
  • Break-out sessions which will focus on exploring and testing themes within individual subsectors (i.e. music, film and television production, gaming, software, written content and print, product design and architecture, and other visual content).
  • A concluding session discussing cross-cutting themes and next steps for the report with all participants.

The Minister of Commerce and Consumer Affairs will open the first workshop, to be held in Auckland.
