Description

Ara Taiohi, in partnership with the Ministry of Youth Development and the Vodafone Foundation invite you to our Canterbury regional hui to review and strengthen the Youth Development Strategy of Aotearoa.

  • Date: Tuesday 26th February 2019

  • Venue: Linwood Ave Community Corner Trust (Street parking available)

Times:

  • 9am: General hui

  • 1pm: Lunch (included)

  • 2-3.30pm: Māori invited to caucus and bring a specific Te Ao Māori voice. Everyone invited to hear presentations on Takiwā and Korowai Tupu.

As places are limited to 30 in each region, we may need to limit numbers from each organisation.

Our review to date has confirmed the principles are sound, but that they need to be updated to reflect the reality of young people in 2018, and to reflect our rich cultural heritage.

We are running nine regional hui around the motu for youth development practitioners, youth workers, regional/government reps and local philanthropy to contribute to a deeper review of the six principles.

Staff from Ara Taiohi will be present to share on Takiwā (our new database that allows organisations to consider complex data at a local level), and Korowai Tupu (our professional association for youth workers).

We hope to see you there!

SPECIAL MENTION to the Wayne Francis Trust for partnering with us to be able to facilitate this hui in Waitaha!
