Come join us for an exciting event focused on the world of viticulture and wine-making at Lincoln University. This in-person event will dive into the fascinating chemistry and biology behind grape growing, environmental management and wine production. Learn from industry experts, tour vineyards, and get hands-on experience in the winery. Whether you're a budding scientist or just have a passion for wine, this event is perfect for anyone interested in the intersection of science and viticulture. Safety plan, parking instructions and event overview will be sent via email.

Includes fieldwork/activities in the vineyard (if weather is fine), lab work, a decision making game, and mini-lecture (Viticulture around the world and the effects of climate change in New Zealand). See agenda below and please note order of the activites can change depending on which of the 3 streams students are in.

Wine-making lab: how wine is made & the lab tests involved in making good wine

Tour our winery to learn about how wine is made, the different factors that winemakers can use to make good wine and then head into the lab to do some tests to see what the data says. Only 0% alcohol wine will be taste tested (and is optional).
