You’re invited!
Transpower and the Young Energy Professionals Network are excited to welcome you to our next Wellington event, centred on Te Kanapu – a long-term project to ensure a reliable, resilient, and affordable national electricity grid in the future!
For the next year and a half, Transpower will be working with New Zealanders on a blueprint for the national electricity grid of the future. As the next generation of the energy workforce, we’ll play a key role in that future! This networking event is an amazing opportunity for the younger workforce to have their say and contribute to Transpower’s consultation programme.
The evening will start with an introduction of Te Kanapu by John Clarke, EGM Future Grid, and the vision behind it - think population, economy, and lifestyle in 2050, and the electricity system we’ll need to support that future. We’ll then use a fun speed networking format to give YEPN an opportunity to contribute to key consultation questions, while also meeting new faces and sparking some lively discussion. Ideas and insights gathered during the session will help shape the direction of the programme.
The team at Transpower are eager for our perspectives on the future of energy use in Aotearoa as, after all, we will be the ones bringing this plan to life. We welcome voices from all corners of the industry – from regulators and economists to engineers and field staff.
As always, after the evening will finish with drinks and nibbles and a chance to continue the conversation and connect with others from across the energy sector.
When: Tuesday 5 August - Doors open from 5:00pm, event kicks off at 5:30pm.
Where: Transpower Offices, 22 Boulcott Street, Wellington Central
Drinks and nibbles will be provided!
Whether you're curious about the future of the grid or keen to contribute your voice to the conversation, we’d love to see you there!
