About this Event

*This is an online event*

Sustainable Business Network and The Now Crowd are excited to present a webinar that affects absolutely everyone: Sustainable Fashion.

You Are What You Wear pulls together experts in sustainable fashion – heralded makers, trend setters, consultants – to tell their stories and journeys of creating a world where fashion won’t harm people or the planet.

Join us from the comfort of your own space, pour a glass of whatever grabs your fancy and listen to stories of expertise and inspiration. We will have a facilitated Q&A so you can ask questions from wherever you are situated in New Zealand!

Our awesome speakers for the event are:

Maggie Hewitt - Founder, Maggie Marilyn

Founded In 2016, the Maggie Marilyn brand embodies sustainability, with all textiles being ethically sourced or recycled. Sustainability is an inbuilt mindset, culture and lifestyle, for us it is the heart of the company.

Jacinta Fitzgerald - Sustainability and product strategist, Make.Good

Jacinta began her career in the fashion industry as a creator, realised the damage that fashion was wreaking the world over, and founded Make.Good to guide others towards a sustainable path. She has worked with brands such as Kowtow, Matteau, Project Just, Mindful Fashion New Zealand, Bally and Content on projects ranging from strategic planning and circular design strategies to materials and product innovations for sustainability, in addition to writing industry-standard reports, developing Seal of Approval programs and procurement guides.

Kate Hall - Fashion activist, Ethically Kate

Kate lives and breathes sustainable living and ethical fashion. This alternative way of consuming and existing dominates her every waking moment- and sometimes more. Ethical fashion and living are no longer her hobbies, they have become her mission... to change the future of fast fashion and the way we consume.

Angela Means - Stylist & vintage clothing curator, Greatest Friend

Angela was one of the first vintage sellers featured on the now-global shopping platform Etsy. In a first for New Zealand Fashion Week, Greatest Friend, her Oneroa-based clothing store, showed an entirely vintage collection. Currently curating accurate-era clothing for television and film productions, Angela continually strives to turn others onto the beauty of used clothing, and away from fast fashion.
