Description
The Young Grower of the Year national final will be held for the first time in Pukekohe in the heart of one of our strongest growing communities. The Awards Dinner will bring together between 300 - 400 growers and industry to celebrate the achievements of our five regional finalists from Central Otago, Bay of Plenty, Nelson, Hawkes Bay and the vegetable sector.
The event will begin with pre-dinner drinks at 6.00pm and followed by a three course meal showcasing Pukekohe produce prepared by locals, Logan's Catering. During the course of the evening you will hear from the Hon. Minister Guy and each of the five finalists who will share their perspective on a topical issue in the horticulture industry. Before the awards are made, last year's winner, Hamish Gates, will update us on the incredible opportunities he has been given since winning the competition.
The awards presented on the night will include the Young Grower of the Year and NZ Young Fruit Grower of the Year, as well as awards for Best Practical, Best Business, Best Speech, Best Innovation, and Outstanding Leadership.
