Event description
An interactive and engaging workshop about Autism Spectrum Disorder, and how to support individuals and families impacted by ASD.

About this Event

Youthline Wellington is pleased to be working alongside Altogether Autism to host a workshop on Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) as part of our Ongoing Education Programme. This workshop will provide you with important and insightful knowledge about ASD, as well as how we can best support individuals and families impacted by ASD.

Cat Noakes-Duncan from Altogether Autism has a background in community and youth work. She currently works as a specialist teacher in primary schools supporting students with autism and high/very high needs. Cat also works for Explore, a health organisation running workshops for parents/whānau who have a child recently diagnosed with ASD. She is a mother to three children, two of whom have autism. In seeking better support systems for families with children on the autism spectrum, Cat has founded a community playgroup in Naenae/Lower Hutt. This playgroup provides families with compassionate support without the frustration of being put on a wait list.

To engage with Cat as she shares her knowledge and experiences, Youthline Wellington invites you to our final Education Programme event of the year. Youthline Wellington politely asks for a donation upon registration or entry to fund future Ongoing Education Programme events.
