Event description
Learn how to de-waste your kitchen in this interactive workshop led by Kristy Lorson.

About this Event

The kitchen is the heart of the home, where we cook up delicious meals to sustain our friends and whānau.

However, it’s also where most of our household waste originates from. Learn how to de-waste your kitchen in this interactive workshop led by Kristy Lorson. Kristy will show you all her zero waste grocery shopping, storage and cooking tips and tricks.

You’ll also learn how to make your own ginger beer and, as a special Christmas treat, your own vegan coconut and rum snowballs.

Please bring two small jars (one cup capacity) for the ginger beer bug and snowballs.

--

Kristy Lorson is the founder of facebook group, Zero Waste in NZ! (with 20,000+ members) and online zero waste store, EarthSavvy.

Her family of three used to throw out a standard-sized rubbish bag once a fortnight. Now, having lived a low-waste life for the past 3+ years, it takes the Lorsons two years to fill their wheelie bin.

Through the Facebook group, EarthSavvy blog and workshops around Auckland, Kristy educates people on how they can shift away from wasteful habits and embrace a sustainable way of living. Kristy's vision is for every New Zealand household to be zero waste.

At Kelmarna we believe that education should be accessible for everyone, and offer a 50% discount on workshops to Community Services Card holders. If you book one of these tickets, please remember to bring your card along to the workshop.
