Derbyshire Makes
Derbyshire Makes is a countywide celebration of creativity, craft and making.
Across towns, villages and heritage sites, artists, makers and communities are coming together to share the joy of making in all its forms – from traditional crafts to contemporary creativity.
Each spring, the Derbyshire Makes Festival brings a vibrant programme of free events to towns across the county, alongside a year-round programme of creative projects, workshops and opportunities to take part.
Inspired by Derbyshire’s rich history of innovation – from industry and manufacturing to textiles, ceramics and design – the programme brings together museums, libraries, artists, makers, educators and local organisations to celebrate the county’s incredible heritage of making.
Whether you’re curious to try something creative, want to learn a new skill, or simply enjoy seeing makers at work, Derbyshire Makes is free, welcoming and open to everyone.
Funded by Arts Council England’s Place Partnership Fund using National Lottery money and Derbyshire County Council, Derbyshire Makes is supported by more than 50 partners working together to celebrate creativity across the county.
