Maroon Adventures
About Maroon Adventures and Tamara.
Maroon Adventures, a community-led walking and wellbeing practice rooted in connection to land, culture and collective care. Walking has taken me across the UK and beyond from coastal paths and national trails to mountains in Europe, Peru, and Japan and back home to Kent, where I now focus on creating inclusive, welcoming walking spaces for others.
I walk in sections across the North Downs Way, The Kent Downs, The Viking Coastal Trail, and coastal routes around Thanet. My walks are shaped by a belief that movement, nature, and shared stories can support mental wellbeing, confidence and belonging, especially for those who may feel excluded from traditional outdoor spaces.
Alongside leading walks, I’m a North Downs Way Ambassador, a Community Connector in East Kent and currently serve as Deputy Mayor of Margate, roles that inform my commitment to inclusive, place-based wellbeing and community care.
Whether you’re new to walking or already love the outdoors, you’ll be welcomed at your own pace. These walks are about showing up, breathing deeply, and moving together with space for conversation, quiet moments and joy along the way.
