UEL - School of Childhood and Social Care
The University of East London is a careers-first university. We prepare our students for the jobs of the future and have been doing this proudly over 125 years.
At the University of East London, we are a diverse, careers-first institution committed to empowering every student with the skills, experience, and confidence needed to thrive in a rapidly changing world. Our approach goes beyond traditional learning; every course is designed with industry input, real-world application, and future employability at its core.
Rooted in our proud East London mission, we champion inclusion, innovation, and opportunity for all. We work hand-in-hand with local communities, global partners, and forward-thinking organisations to create pathways that transform potential into achievement. Our students don’t just study here; they become part of a vibrant and ambitious community working to shape a better future.
The School of Childhood and Social Care is composed of the Department of Psychology and Human Development, the Department of Education, and the Department of Social Work, Counselling, and Social Care. It will play a critical role not only within our university but also in shaping society, locally, nationally and internationally. Each department contributes uniquely to the understanding of human development, education, and social justice—core pillars that communities need now more than ever.
