Dean Kirby

Dean Kirby is a multi-award-winning Mancunian journalist, an historian, a professional genealogist and a tour guide. His award nominations include the Orwell Prize for Exposing Britain's Social Evils, Scoop of the Year at the British Journalism Awards and the Hugh Cudlipp Award for Investigative Journalism. His debut book, Angel Meadow: Victorian Britain's Most Savage Slum, was a bestseller. He has a PhD in urban history and wrote his thesis about Victorian living conditions in Angel Meadow.
