Friends of the Tulliallan Elms
Introduction
The Tulliallan Avenue of Elms is 124 years’ old and is of cultural, historical and horticultural significance to the City of Casey. It is heritage-listed by the Victorian government. We are a small group of volunteers who have been caring for the trees since 2018.
Purpose of Friends of the Tulliallan Elms
- The Friends of the Tulliallan Elms is a group of neighborhood volunteers whose main goal is to promote interest, support and involvement in the preservation, care and maintenance of the heritage-listed avenue of Elms trees in the Tulliallan estate.
- We advocate to build and maintain respect for the aesthetic, ecological and horticultural value of the Elms trees for the benefit of every resident in the neighborhood.
- We research, assess and communicate timely information for the care and preservation of the Elm trees in concert with our Town Council and our residents’ interests.
- We join with the Town Council and other related government departments, together with proactive residents and community and environmental groups to coordinate the planning and initiatives designed to maintain and preserve the value of the Elm trees for our neighborhood.
