Centre for Constitutions in Context

The Centre for Constitutions in Context (CCC) at Warwick Law School (WLS) aims to foster a community of researchers and practitioners – both at Warwick and beyond – interested in contextual understandings of constitutions and constitutional law.

In line with Warwick’s longstanding “law in context” tradition, the CCC’s focus is on studying constitutions globally from comparative and interdisciplinary perspectives, exploring those constitutions in their geographical, historical, political, social, and cultural contexts. We investigate the many ways in which constitutional law does, and arguably should, interact with other disciplines, including history, philosophy, politics, sociology, and film studies, among others.

And in fulfilling our aims, we organise and hold various events, including workshops and symposia on issues relevant to the study of world constitutions, academic talks on new, seminal work in the field, and regular film screenings and led discussions.
