Gillian Scott #coachontheblock #leadingwithagility #emotionalculturematters

Originally from sunny Cape Town, South Africa, I have been creating new memories in New Zealand since 2016, and currently live in beautiful Hawkes Bay, New Zealand with my partner, James.

I am an accomplished and pragmatic agile coach and business analyst and get my kicks from helping, inspiring, motivating and mentoring others.  I do this by helping people understand lean and agile principles, the importance of a growth mindset, and new ways of working. Sometimes, this includes teaching the use of technology, such as Zoom Meetings and Atlassian Jira. I also encourage deliberately looking for opportunities and nuggets amidst uncertainty, chance and even chaos. And then experimenting with what we have found to see if it may work.

I work with teams, organisations and communities to understand what a good emotional (feeling) culture might look like for them and how they might create and nurture such a culture.  Setting and preaching a set of values without doing this is unlikely to result in attracting and retaining great talent.

I work with leaders (even aspiring leaders) to help them understand what it means to lead in this unpredictable crazy old world, the importance of having an adaptive strategy,  and why it's important for today's leaders to be agents of change and transformation.  Of course, I also help by providing practical tools and techniques to develop these skills and capabilities.

In other words, I love encouraging others to Be Couragus!
