Jackson Street Programme

The Jackson Street Programme is an incorporated society set up in 1993. It promotes the street as a destination for shopping, eating out, professional services, commercial services and socialising.  It also organises promotional and community events.

Its main source of funds is a targeted rate levied by the Hutt City Council on commercial ratepayers in the street. Every three years these businesses are polled to see whether they still support the rate. Funds also come from charitable donations and subscriptions paid by supporters and associate members.
