James H. Ward
James Ward is a criminal intelligence analyst with over 20 years of experience in the field. He currently works for the U.S Department of Homeland Security, where he helps Special Agents locate and track down criminals involved in various crimes, such as human trafficking, money laundering, and cyberattacks. He has received several awards for his innovative and effective methods of data analysis and visualization, including the Brendan J. O’Rourke Award for Innovation in Criminal Analysis. He also has a Bachelor of Arts in Intelligence Studies with honors from American Military University and two master certifications, one in Microsoft Applications and another in IT Software Project Management.
His work has led to the identification and capture of numerous murder suspects resulting in over 35 murders solved, the identification of a serial rapist involved in 15 cases, and caused a murder suspect’s legal representation to negotiate a plea resulting from geospatial and time-based analysis of call logs.
James is passionate about sharing his knowledge and skills with others who are interested in learning more about the fascinating world of criminal intelligence. He has taught numerous courses and workshops on topics such as link analysis, phone tolls, financial data, OSINT, and real-estate money laundering. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, hiking, and playing chess.
