Larry Schnell

Larry Schnell is a writer and journalist living near Cooperstown, New York. As a reporter for the Gainesville Sun and the Florida Times-Union, Larry

Schnell covered business, politics, criminal justice, environment, and higher education. He graduated from the State University of New York at Oneonta

with bachelor’s degree and from the University of Florida with a master’s degree. He has taught English, journalism, and writing for several colleges

and the University of Florida and published three books of fiction, Country People, The Year of the Gator, and The Dry Tortugas.

A lifelong sailor and licensed sailboat captain, Larry Schnell has sailed in Florida, the East Coast, the Bahamas, and Lake Ontario in his sailboat

Intrada, and has published articles in boating magazines about his sailing experiences.
