Laura
Hi, I’m Laura, and I love Thai food.
I’m English, but I grew up in Asia, including Thailand, where my dad has lived for around 35 years. Thai food has always been a big part of my life, and over the years I’ve researched and studied Thai cooking — as well as spending countless hours practising in my own kitchen — trying to recreate the flavours I grew up with and the dishes I’ve always loved.
These days it’s also much easier to cook Thai food in the UK because so many key ingredients are more widely available than they used to be. I even try to grow a few ingredients at home… with varied success! The one I love the most — krapow (holy basil) — never quite takes to the English weather.
Now I’m turning my passion into a small sideline alongside my normal job, and I’m really excited to share it with others. My workshops are relaxed, friendly and hands-on: you’ll cook in pairs, learn practical tips you can use again and again at home, and you’ll sit down and enjoy the food together at the end.
