Hi I am Lisa. I have a Diploma to teach Mindfulness & Positive Psychology courses. I did a Diploma in the Irish Mindfulness Academy, 2021/22. I teach 6 week courses, covering informal and formal mindfulness, 7 foundational attitudes of mindfulness, Neuroscience, Positive Psychology which includes gratitude journaling, flow activities, mindfulness based CBT, stress and lots more. I do one to one mindful coaching and I facilitate in groups with Aware teaching tools on mindfulness. I also run Mindful walks, giving an overview how our mind works, followed by a mindful walk, ending with a meditation.
I teach because of the difference it has made in my life. I was sceptical back in 2019, when a friend asked me to do a 6 week course on mindfulness with her. I thought I knew what mindfulness was about because I knew some quotes. Mindfulness is about spending time in our calm, logical, conscious mind, 'Pre-frontal Cortex'. When we do this we quieten the noisy Unconscious mind, 'Amygdala'. Then we can sort through, what is really going on with us by using the 7 Foundational attitudes of Mindfulness. I really found peace in my life after doing the diploma and I love passing on what I learnt.
