Melbourne River Sangha - A Mindfulness Community
Melbourne River Sangha, formally established in 2010, is a lay practicing community rooted in the teachings of the late Vietnamese Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh. Committed to fostering mindfulness for inner peace and happiness, we gather twice weekly on Monday mornings and Tuesday evenings to support one another in our journey of mindfulness practice.
At the heart of our community is Brother Harry Huy Nguyen, also known as Chan Hy Son (True Joyful Mountain), who received ordination as a Lay Brother of the Order of Interbeing from Thich Nhat Hanh in 2002 and received a Dharma Lamp Transmission in 2025. Supporting the Community is a dedicated Care Taking Council (CTC) of experienced practitioners, we all come together to cultivate the energy of mindfulness within ourselves and apply it in our daily lives.
