MUNCH – Ōtautahi’s Home for Sapphic Nightlife & Community

MUNCH is Christchurch’s sapphic revolution—a bold, unapologetically queer space where sapphic women, non-binary people, and trans folk come to dance, connect, and feel at home.

We started MUNCH after moving to Christchurch in 2023 and struggling to find queer spaces that felt like ours. Making friends as an adult is hard—especially when LGBTQIA+ spaces are few and far between. We know Christchurch deserves more. So we decided to make it happen.

MUNCH is more than just a party—it’s where queer nightlife meets real community. With high-energy club nights featuring queer performers, DJs, interactive acts, and singalongs, plus future plans for speed dating, day events, themed events and more, we’re here to make space for sapphic joy.

Allies are welcome—but please be mindful that spaces for queer people are rare and precious.
