Octavia Clahar

Brooklynite Octavia Clahar's screenwriting journey began with her viral, voice-acted animated series Uneducated. The series hit over 1.2 million YouTube views, leading her to produce a live-action pilot. The work screened to a sold-out crowd at Brooklyn Public Library in 2019.

Building a portfolio of pilots, Octavia has worked on indie sets to multi-million dollar productions, including Emmy-winning The 1619 Project. She's since been a dozen-time finalist in prestigious competitions & a second-rounder for Black Boy/Girl Writes (2022, 2024).

In 2023, she joined the board of Bobby Moresco's Actors' Gym Workshop at Broadway's AMT Theater, in May 2024, an Artist in Residence at La Porte Peinte in France & April 2025, Octavia coordinated and hosted Behind the Desk at From Here to Sunday in Brooklyn.

Octavia's storytelling spans NYC based dramedies to animated fantasy, centering BIPOC characters. She is preparing to launch a creative incubator in Paris to support emerging and industry filmmakers.
