Prayukti Arts
Prayukti Arts is a dynamic, community-driven organization dedicated to fostering connections through Indian classical dance and movement-based experiences. Founded by Artistic Director Nitya Narasimhan, Prayukti is built on the belief that art is a unifying force—one that brings people together, nurtures relationships, and creates lasting impact.
Named after the Sanskrit word for “motive” or “consequence,” Prayukti was established with a vision to cultivate an inclusive, thriving arts ecosystem in the Bay Area. We strive to provide a space where artists, students, and audiences can come together to engage, collaborate, and grow. Our mission is to make the arts accessible to all, ensuring that each individual can discover their unique connection with the arts, and in turn, to themselves.
Originally founded in 2017 as a Bharatanatyam institute, Prayukti evolved into an arts organization in 2022 with the launch of its own physical art space. Today, we curate meaningful artistic opportunities that bridge tradition and contemporary narratives, keeping the South Asian arts alive while making them relevant for today’s world.
