Repair Network Aotearoa
Repair Network Aotearoa (RNA), a not-for-profit trust, initially founded as Repair Café Aotearoa NZ (RCANZ) in late 2020, rapidly grew from a grassroots effort connecting individual Repair Cafés into a national hub. Our core mission is to reduce waste, share skills, and build rcommunity resilience through repair. We advace this by providing resources, guidance, and a unified voice for the repair movement, actively advocating for the Right to Repair, promoting repair education, and fostering repair within business operations and council waste minimisation management plans. This work champions sustainability and empowers local initiatives, reinforcing the value of fixing over discarding.
Repair Cafés are free pop-up events and they are all about repairing, fixing and learning with each other. Visitors bring their broken items and together with the volunteer experts they look at mending or repairing what is possible. If you have nothing to repair to bring, you can enjoy a cuppa and a chat. Or you can lend a hand with someone else’s repair job.
