Ruth Davey, Look Again

Hello, I'm Ruth - Founder Director of Look Again, facilitator, trainer, photographer, consultant, public speaker.

My vision is a world where people use their sight, imagination and creativity to improve wellbeing, build resilience and create regenerative change in their lives, their organisations, communities, and the wider world.

I have over 30 years experience of international, community and business development in the private, public and non-profit sectors.

I founded Look Again in 2012, to bring together what I am passionate about:

1. Supporting the health and wellbeing of people and planet

2. Helping people to use mindful photography as a tool to see their lives and the world differently

3. Inspiring people to reframe their now, re-vision their future, and create new stories of action and hope.

Things have not always been easy... Following episodes of anxiety and depression leading to burnout and a breakdown, I was forced to take a pause. I spent time focusing on what I loved most - photography, mindfulness and nature - and wove these together as part of my recovery.

Slowly I developed the first evidence-based mindful photography methodology, recognised as a creative, accessible and transformational intervention for improving mental health, wellbeing and resilience. Over 130 practitioners in 27 countries have completed training in the Look Again methodology and the ripple effects of our work is benefits thousands of people around the world.

My values are simplicity, integrity, courage, and living regeneratively. I'm blessed to have built my work around sharing these values with others.

I am also a professional published and commissioned photographer, a fellow of the RSA and the author of the book The Art of Applewood. I'm a social justice and climate activist, love road trips, and enjoy times of solitude in nature.

I love getting to know new people and building meaningful relationships. I'd love to hear from you!

With warm wishes

Ruth
