Te Rōpū Pakihi

ABOUT US

Our Kaupapa

Te Rōpū Pakihi has adopted the following ten kaupapa tuku iho, guiding principles that influence all activity undertaken.

Kaitiakitanga - guarding and protecting the mauri of Te Rōpū Pakihi and respecting the mana of all people

Manaakitanga – being generous, providing hospitality and support,

Wairuatanga - valuing and respecting each other’s spiritual beliefs,

Ūkaipōtanga - nurturing the creation and sustenance of Māori enterprise,

Kotahitanga - collectively uniting to meet a common purpose,

Te Reo – supporting, encouraging and being respectful of the use of Te Reo,

Whanaungatanga - creating an environment where all relationships thrive,

Whakapapa - promoting shared business and being aware of hapū/iwi/whānau connections,

Pūkengatanga - providing environments rediscover, create and to share and foster traditional and contemporary knowledge and skills,

Rangatiratanga – playing our part in facilitating Māori business growth and wellbeing.

Te Rōpū Pakihi supports the growth and development of Māori enterprise in the Kāpiti Coast and Horowhenua region

The network was established in April 2001 by nine founding businesses many of whom remain core members. The membership believes that it is the influence of kaupapa tuku iho that makes our businesses unique contributors to our communities.

The Network meets regularly to tautoko each other in business and community

We hold functions throughout the year to whakawhanaungatanga amongst ourselves and with others.
