Vera J. Kong
Hi there - I’m Vera.
Once upon a time, I would have called myself a psychotherapist and group facilitator. Through personal experience and an ever-evolving journey of multidisciplinary growth, my work has since transformed into a holistic therapeutic coaching practice centred on Change Facilitation.
My goal is to deepen my contribution here in Southwest London - to bring communities together in an age of AI and social diffusion, to create spaces for genuine, real-life interactions, and to help people reconnect both with themselves and with their wider neighbourhoods.
Music has been a lifelong companion to me. I’ve been an avid musician since childhood and today I’m fortunate to be accompanied by three gongs and a range of other instruments in my work as a sound practitioner, therapeutic coach, and Sensorimotor Psychotherapist. As part of my locally hosted Salons, I facilitate Gong Baths, Discussion Groups, therapeutic Group Processes, and meditative walks and talks that weave together nature, contemplation, and movement.
I’m deeply passionate about change - not only as a psychological concept, but as a lived, natural part of life. Guided by curiosity, I continuously explore new ways to foster long-lasting and healthy personal transformation.
At the same time, I care profoundly about our relationship with the unknown - the 'fertile void', the mystery that is the universe we live through and in… there are so many names for it, yet none quite capture its essence.
I’m currently developing Southwest London-based gatherings that bring together psychology, philosophy, neuroscience, spirituality, the arts, music, and sound. I named these dynamic gatherings 'Vera's Salon' in an effort to create spaces where therapeutic tools, techniques and self-awareness raising methods are more accessible to the public. It is also a space for connection, insights, joint growth and the sharing of knowledge and personal forms of wisdom.
