6:05 pm Korero with Marina Erakovic

Marina Erakovic is a former tennis professional who achieved a career-high world ranking of 39 in singles and 25 in doubles. She has spent nearly a decade in the world’s top 100 rankings competing against some of the best athletes in the world. She has been a two time Olympian, a Commonwealth Games representative and was the New Zealand number 1 tennis player (male or female) for 15 years.

Marina was also one of the eight elected player representatives on the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) Player Council, serving for four years. Currently Marina is a student at the University of Auckland studying Health Sciences. Whilst being a touring tennis professional, she worked towards a Bachelor of Commerce degree majoring in Economics and graduated in 2019.

6:45 pm Q&A with Eliza McCartney

Eliza McCartney is a New Zealand track and field athlete who competes in the pole vault and won the bronze medal in this event at the 2016 Summer Olympics. She is the current New Zealand and Oceania record holder at 4.94 m (16 ft 2 1⁄4 in), and is the outdoor world junior record holder at 4.64 m (15 ft 2 1⁄2 in). (Her absolute junior record has since been passed indoors.)
