Basic Bonsai Techniques
Event Information
About this Event
Bonsai is an art form probably started by the Chinese over 2000 years ago, using trees grown in containers or on rocks to represent the beauty and majesty of nature.
Have you ever thought of developing your own Bonsai tree?
Come to this workshop to learn how to do it. Watch an ordinary nursery tree turned into a Bonsai, then have a go yourself.
Learn what to look for in nursery trees, how to select which branches to keep and which to cut off, how to pot it up and how to look after it.
All good fun and you get your very own Bonsai to take home!
The registration fee of $20 covers the cost of the tree, potting mix, grow bags, wire, and morning tea.
Places are limited for this popular, hands-on workshop, so register with Ruth as soon as possible to avoid disappointment by emailing ruth.wood@xtra.co.nz.
The Community Gardens are located, behind the Lincoln Maternity Hospital, please park on the road.
