Beginners MindBody Aikido Classes - 5 Week Course

Gerald started learning aikido in 1982, while studying for a law degree in London. Gerald's principal instructor was Ken Williams, the first British aikido black belt and national instructor. Williams firmly believed in, and practised, aikido using relaxation, mindbody coordination and internal energy.In 1986, Gerald started his owndojoin London, and also taught aikido for the Inner London Education Authority (ILEA). He was graded and awarded 3rd dan by Ken Williams in 1993.Gerald also studied yoga and yoga philosophy, taught thousands of classes and many workshops, and trained yoga teacher trainees at Wellpark College of Natural Therapies in Auckland.He has worked as a photographer, writer,  ayurvedic practitioner, yoga therapist, mindbody practitioner, web designer, and Internet marketing consultant. He has been fascinated by MindBody since the 1980s, and in 2014, was awarded a postgraduate diploma in Health Science (MindBody Healthcare) by the Auckland University of Technology (AUT).Gerald now offers "Aikido Off The Mat" training in the form of coaching and workshops based on aikido principles, targeted to individuals, businesses and other organisations.

<p>MindBody Aikido is an art of learning to feel strong, stable and centred in yourself. From there you learn how to deal with incoming conflict, not by resisting or fighting, but by blending with and using your partner's energy. Come and learn Aikido safely and comfortably, in a friendly and fun atmosphere!</p><p>Classes are 7-8.30pm every Tuesday from 29/9 to 27/10. You will then have the option to attend ongoing classes every Tuesday at $50 per month.</p>

<p>Your instructor is Gerald Lopez, who was awarded 3rd Dan by the first British Aikido chief instructor, Ken Williams. Gerald teaches principles that enable you to quickly develop self-confidence, awareness, and graceful, powerful movements. </p><p>Over 5 weeks you will learn progressively and comfortably, and after that will be able to attend ongoing classes.</p><p>For beginners classes, you will need only comfortable gym clothing, or you may use a karate or judo suit.
