Event description
A strip club night for queers, by queers.

About this Event

Tāmaki Makaurau, welcome back to B O D Y H A U S: a strip club night for queers, by queers.

In this time of global unrest, Covid-19 and political mayhem, let's take some time to ground ourselves, love our bodies, and celebrate our queerness together.

It will be another evening of erotic art & live performances that is a safe and inclusive space. Our goal is to raise awareness of the fact that strip clubs do not pay their dancers an hourly wage, and we want to do this by hosting a night where we pay them a base fee, on top of whatever tips they earn on the night.

We also want to de-stigmatise this important line of work, and redefine what sensuality looks like by putting on a beautiful, artful, sex positive night.

But most importantly, we want to create a safe space for QPOC, trans & gender diverse dancers, who often don't feel safe enough to perform elsewhere. We want to create change by celebrating all bodies and by making this experience accessible to queer patrons who may not otherwise feel comfortable in a traditional strip club.

This space is for those who have always wanted to embrace their erotic side and go to a strip club, but didn't feel like that space was for them. This is a place for queer performers, and queer patrons to come together.

Our little team of passionate sex positive queers are the right people to do this because we have had personal experiences with how mainstream strip clubs work, and we want to do better! We want to dismantle the heteronormative gaze that usually occupies strip clubs and replace it with our own queer as f*ck lens.

Note: There will be a Covid-19 Tracer QR code available which we advise people to use on entry. If we change levels before Nov 6th, we will postpone the event and either refund your tickets or hold them till the next date.

We love respect, kindness and inclusiveness and remember that real compassion is also being able to call your mates out on their bullshit so lets work together to create a harmonious environment for everyone!
