The Carosika Collaborative Taonga Tuku Iho invites you to a one day educational event about preterm birth and updating your practice

The event will be delivered through plenary sessions and smaller group interactive case-based workshops.

Topics will include:

  • Racism and anti-racism in healthcare and preterm birth
  • Carosika community of practice, preterm birth clinics and preterm birth advisors for high- risk spontaneous preterm birth
  • First trimester and the first antenatal visit; reducing preterm birth
  • The enablers and barriers to preterm birth
  • Preparing for preterm birth – latest update on corticosteroids, magnesium and more
  • Carosika Collaborative and Taonga Tuku Iho update
  • The Carosika metrics - measuring impact in preterm birth care and outcomes
  • Timing of provider initiated preterm birth


Note: Morning Tea, Lunch and Afternoon Tea will be provided.


The Carosika Collaborative was established in 2020 following a national stakeholder hui and agreement to work together as a community with a shared purpose to co-ordinate initiatives and champion change that leads to a reduction in preterm birth, improved preparation for preterm birth and equitable outcomes for all pēpē that are born preterm in Aotearoa. One of our key activities is to provide evidence-based education. We hope that you will come along and learn with us!
