Welcome James Gough!
James Gough is Executive Director of The Terrace - one of the South Island’s landmark hospitality and commercial precincts - and an experienced director with a background in property, infrastructure, and community leadership. A former Christchurch City Councillor who served five terms (2010–2025), James played a key role in the city’s post-earthquake recovery and regeneration.
He is active in both the public and private sectors, including his roles as an independent director of Canterbury Rugby, Westroads, Transwaste Canterbury, Te Rūnanga o Waihao Holdings, and Home in Place New Zealand. He also serves on the Advisory Board of Development West Coast, sits on the local community board, and is a member of the Property Council NZ South Island Regional Committee.
James and his wife have three young children, and he has a passion for property and a long-term commitment to Christchurch and its future
