Fulbright New Zealand and Sir Peter Blake Trust are pleased to present the interactive event Creating Enduring Leadership hosted by Victoria University of Wellington on Wednesday 6 July.

A major event as part of the Sir Peter Blake Trust Leadership Week, Creating Enduring Leadership is in partnership with Fulbright New Zealand and will explore the leadership journey of outstanding New Zealanders.

The MC for the evening is Victoria University Public and Community Leadership Professor Brad Jackson, with a panel of speakers from both the Sir Peter Blake Trust and Fulbright New Zealand alumni. They will discuss making meaningful connections and inspiring actions that have sustainable impact both here and around the world.

Panellists include: 

  • Mark Pennington ONZM, Head Designer at Formway, 1988 Fulbright New Zealand Cultural Grant grantee, Lead Coach for government-funded Better by Design programme

  • Maia Wikaira (Ngāti Tūwharetoa, Ngāpuhi, Te Rarawa), Kahui Legal lawyer, 2016 Fulbright-Ngā Pae o te Māramatanga Graduate Award grantee

  • Sam Johnson, social entrepreneur, Student Volunteer Army founder, 2011 Blake Leader

  • Rachel Taulelei MNZM (Ngati Raukawa, Ngati Rarua), Kono Chief Executive, Yellow Brick Road Founder, Aotearoa Fisheries Director and Wellington City Market co-founder, 2012 Blake Leader

The evening will include drinks, nibbles and networking from 5.30pm, with formalities kicking off at 6.00pm. The evening will be comprised of a future-focused discussion around leadership in New Zealand and the importance of connecting communities, building scale, and how to influence through leadership.
