Employment Law Changes and the Practical Implications
Join Lane Neave Employment Law Partner Fiona McMillan, and Kim Arnold, Brannigan’s People and Capability Lead, for this seminar that will explain recent law changes and provide practical business tips.
In late February 2026, we saw the Employment Relations Amendment Act 2026 come into effect which bought in four key changes:
- Clarification on the definition of a Contractor.
- Those earning 200K+ barred from raising a personal grievance for unjustified dismissal.
- Changes to the 30-day rule.
- A change to the application of remedies in the Employment Relations Authority and the Employment Court.
A number of changes were also made last year, and a few more are expected before the election in November.
This workshop will explain the changes plus provide practical tips on what your business needs to be turning its mind to in light of these changes.
