Emma Blakelock introduces the Ennegram as a tool for understanding yourself and relationships with others.
About this event
Listen:
Jesus invites us to join with others in the journey towards transformation. But sometimes that’s easier said than done! Understanding ourselves and our relationships is necessary. And the Enneagram is a powerful tool to grow in this understanding.
Emma Blakelock recently completed her training with the US-based Narrative Enneagram Institute. She will introduce how the Enneagram system works and how we can create a healthy and safe culture around it.
Regardless of how much you know about the Enneagram, this session is for you. It will provide a baseline understanding, language and approach for anyone interested in personal growth, whether it is their own or helping others to grow.
It should be noted that this session does not directly address each of the nine personality types due to time restrictions.
The Enneagram
The Enneagram is an ancient personality system that until recently was passed on through oral tradition in different groups and places around the world. The introduction of Enneagram books and teaching in mainstream settings over the past few decades has meant the Enneagram has increased in popularity. Social media platforms has contributed to the rapid increase in the number of people engaging in the Enneagram. However these changes have also meant that some of the richness, depth and nuance of the Enneagram is missing from our common understanding and approach to the system.
Tickets Required
Due to the venue health and safety requirements, there are only 80 tickets available for this session, and only people holding tickets will be allowed entry on the night. Please select multiple tickets if you would like to bring a guest.
Who we are: South West Baptist Church
South West Baptist Church is a church on a journey towards becoming a more Presence Based Church. This means we are making slow and deliberate movements towards solidarity with a people and a place.
Our commitment to this journey is guided by our timeless kingdom vision focused on Redemptive Communities and Lifelong Followers and a sense that we are responding to where the Holy Spirit is at work bringing new life and raising up a new way of living out our redemptive life.
Wānanga Week 2021
The purpose of Wānanga Week is to help us consider how we – the church, the body of Jesus – respond to the world around us and journey together towards kingdom transformation in the places we live.
We believe God is calling us to become more place-based, to take steps towards becoming a more Presence Based Church, individually and collectively.
Wānanga Week is a space to reflect on this call – and to help us find our feet within the story of what Jesus is doing in our neighbourhoods. Together we’ll explore some of the ideas and experiences of what it means to be a Presence Based Church.
Throughout the week there’ll be many different ways to connect in. We’ll be sharing kai in neighbourhoods, swapping stories, and creating space to kōrero about different topics facing our world and how we can respond.
