Event description

Description

Fast Forward is the bi-annual lecture series hosted by the University of Auckland’s School of Architecture and Planning. It aims to foster debate, discussion and development within the disciplines of architecture, urban design and urban planning.

For Making Ways FFWD is collaborating with the Objectspace Ockham Residential Series to bring this public lecture into the gallery, based around the themes of the exhibition. On 25 September, Making Ways exhibiting practice ĀKAU is joined in the gallery by another practice and an interviewer to explore new and alternative ways of making architecture.

Complimentary pastries and Allpress Espresso will be available from 7.45am.

This event is part of the Festival of Architecture. This lecture series is made possible by the generous support of GIB®.

Based in Te Taitokerau, Northland, ĀKAU is a design and architecture practice of Ana Heremaia, Ruby Watson & Felicity Brenchley that places people and community at the heart of their projects. Creating opportunities for youth to be involved in the design of real projects in their community through a wānanga approach ĀKAU operate as a connection point between client, consultants, taitamariki and the wider community. ĀKAU value authentic collaborative design approaches, resulting in project outcomes that are more meaningful, appropriate and speak of the people and place in which they are built.
